The SMCHP1D-USB is a 14 Mbps Powerline-to-USB adapter that provides the easiest way to create or extend a home network without having to run expensive Category 5 cabling. The SMCHP1D-USB is compatible with Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, and with the HomePlug 1.0 standard to work across all types of home wiring. Using auto-sensing and rate-adaptive technology, the SMCHP1D-USB ensures that your connection maintains the highest performance available. With data transfer speeds up to 14 Mbps, the SMCHP1D-USB is faster than 802.11b wireless and easier to install and troubleshoot. The SMCHP1D-USB comes with the EZ Configuration Manger utility, the only Powerline management software that runs on both the PC and Mac platforms. For additional status information, the SMCHP1D-USB has easy-to-read diagnostic LEDs that show whether a Powerline network is available as soon as it is plugged into the power outlet.
