The SMCHP1D-ETH is a 14 Mbps Powerline-to-Ethernet adapter that provides the easiest way to create or extend a home network without having to run expensive Category 5 cabling. The SMCHP1D-ETH is compatible with Windows XP, 2000, Me, 98, MAC OS 9.x and OS X 10.1.x and with the HomePlug 1.0 standard to work across all types of home wiring.

Using auto-sensing and rate-adaptive technology, the SMCHP1D-ETH ensures that your connection maintains the highest performance available. With data transfer speeds up to 14 Mbps, the SMCHP1D-ETH is faster than 802.11b wireless and easier to install and troubleshoot. The SMCHP1D-ETH comes with the EZ Configuration Manger utility the only Powerline management software that runs on both the PC and Mac platforms. For additional status information, the SMCHP1D-ETH has easy-to-read diagnostic LEDs, which show whether a Powerline network is available as soon as it is plugged into the power outlet. Combine this performance with a 56-bit Data Encryption Standard (DES) with Key Management security feature and you have a complete solution that is fast and secure.
